MMV Member Benefits

MMV is a “neighbors helping neighbors” program.  Our aim is to help older adults in Cambridge, Underhill, and Jericho stay in their homes and stay connected to their communities for as long as they’d like. 

We realize that there are many tasks that aging community members could use assistance with--ranging from relatively simple things like changing a smoke detector battery to more involved needs like grocery shopping or getting to a doctor.  If the to-do list grows too long, homeowners may feel overwhelmed and compelled to leave their homes before they really want to.  Loneliness and social isolation, especially during our long winters, add to the burden of aging.  

MMV meets these challenges through our volunteer programs.  What we can offer depends on the skills and availability of volunteers.  Some of the services we plan to offer are listed below.

Need a hand?

MMV is there to help you
when you need it!

We can:

• Connect you with local volunteers who can:
  • run errands
  • drive you to appointments
  • dump the trash
  • weed the garden
  • change a hard-to-reach light bulb
  • shovel the walk
  • set up computers, phones, etc.
  • and more
• Provide security with:
  • daily check-in calls
  • weekly visits

MMV can also help keep you connected with your neighbors and improve your quality of life.  We will organize:

• luncheons
• book clubs
• classes
• healthy activities such as walks and yoga
• day trips
• computer workshops
• and other social and educational opportunities
